i. Bowl, with Lotus-flower handles. Bronze. Shades of grey, green, purple and pink.
Height of bowl 6 inches; of handle 1034 inches. Spring of handles from sides, 3 inches. Dis-
tance between centres, 5^2 inches. Height of lotus flower, 3 inches. Found at Curium.

Bottom round; curves gently to edge, which extends inward to form a lip. The handles
are attached by five heavy rivets. Similar to those shown in Plate LIII, but smaller.

2. Pitcher, small. Bronze. Green and brown tints; inside, light green. Height 4^'
inches. Diameter of body 2l/% inches. Found at Dali (Idalium).

Trefoil mouth, with pointed spout. Neck tapers down slightly toward ovoid body, which
is larger above than below. Part of handle is gone; originally it did not rise above the rim;
ended in three points resembling a bird's claw.

3. Lamp, with two spouts. Bronze. Brown and green. Width 5 inches. Height 7/%
inch. Found at Curium in a vault.

Made from a sheet of metal bent or twisted to form the spouts. Rim about the edge is ^
inch wide. Top is entirely open. The collection contains two examples.

4. Tripod. Bronze. Grey, green, brown and black. Height 14^2 inches. Diameter
9% inches. Found at Curium.

The circular band at the top has its vertical sides decorated with figures of animals in relief,
apparently a hunting scene. The legs are made of five strands brazed side by side, three plain
and two with rope pattern, which is visible on both sides. The outer strands expand into coils at
the top, and all five stop five inches from the bottom, being contracted to form the leg which
terminates in a bull's hoof. Horizontal and diagonal braces strengthen the tripod.
