Plate XLV.

i. Vase or Caldron. Bronze. Shades of grey, green and brown. Height 12}^ inches.
Diameter of body, 16% inches; of mouth, yS/s inches. Found at Curium.

The bottom is rounded, with spherical body to height of eight inches. The sides thence
recede with a slight curve to a short cylindrical neck 3^ mcn high. The surface is plain, and the
material quite thin.

2. Horse-bit. Bronze. Dark green and brown. Length 12% inches. Distance between
guards 9 inches. Length of guards, 53^ inches. Found at Curium.

The guards are made to revolve on the bit. The other details are obvious.

3. Jar-cover. Bronze. Green and light brown; blue inside. Original diameter about
9% inches. Found at Curium.

The rim is flat; top convex; handle square above and attached by rivets.
