Bowls and Paterae. The collection contains four paterae in bronze similar to those shown,
and sixteen examples of bowls of various sizes. All of these examples were found in Phoenician
tombs at Dali.
i. Bowl. Bronze. Height 3%6 inches. Diameter 7 j/j inches.
Bottom is round; sides curve nearly to lips. Sections of uncorroded surface are visible
inside.
2. Bowl. Bronze. Height 25/£ inches. Diameter 6y2 inches.
Round bottom ; lips re-entrant and flat. Material very thin and corroded through in spots.
3. Bowl. Bronze. Height 25/i6 inches. Diameter 45^ inches.
Similar to No. 2, but smaller. Thickly corroded.
4. Bowl. Bronze. Height 1 yA inch. Diameter 57/i6 inches.
Similar to foregoing, but not as deep.
5. Patera. Bronze. Height i-V\g inch. Diameter 534 inches.
Rounded bottom; curves rapidly to lip, which is flat and slightly re-entrant.
6. Patera. Bronze. Height i3^ inch. Diameter 6%. inches.
Base is cylindrical and short, with corresponding interior depression. Bottom flares
rapidly ; sides contract to edge, which is flat and re-entrant.
