Plate LXXXIV.

Bowls, with and without distinct bases. Glass. Shown at Vs of true size. These are sam-
ples of shapes numerously represented in the collection. Of bowls with rounded bottoms, and
without distinct bases, like No. i, there are 38 examples; of those with distinct and protruding-
bases, and flaring sides and lips, like Nos. 3 and 4, 23 examples, and of bowls with ribbed sides,
21 examples. Found in Greek tombs at Dali (Idalium).

1. Bowl. Height 2l/2 inches. Diameter 3 inches.

Amber-colored. Round bottom, with retreating sides, decorated with three depressed
bands.

2. Bowl. Height 2 Vie inches. Diameter ?.y% inches.
Rounded bottom with retreating sides and depressed band at lip.

3. Bowl. Height 3^6 inches. Diameter (base) 2Vio inch; (top) 4^ inches.
High, conical base; Body semi-elliptical, with flaring lips.

4. Bowl. Height 2 inches. Diameter (base) 25/s inches; (top) 434 inches.

Low, projecting base; curved sides, and wide, projecting lips. Cord used for suspending
the bowl is visible.

5. Bowl. Height about 2% inches. Diameter (top) 4 inches.
Cylindrical base; flaring sides with indistinct lips.
