CXLII, Nos. 1053, 1054. All the characters can be seen on the accompanying plate, but the be-
ginning of the inscription is in the left edge of the left-hand picture. From Maroni, near the
ancient Marium. Characters % to l/2 inch high, in fine strokes, plain. Reading from right to left.

Reading doubtful, but has the appearance of a dedication to Bacchus.

7. On the votive gold armlets of King Etevander; from the treasure at Curium. Inscrip-
tion the same on each, but characters of one l/A inch high in a line four inches long; in the other,
the characters are y$ inch high in a line 3^ inches long. Read from left to right.
