These two inscriptions are from the ruins of a temple near Fasuli, each on the base of a
statue, of which only the feet remain. The temple, as shown by the inscriptions, was erected to
Zeus Labranios, a cult introduced from Asia Minor. For a full account of these interesting in-
scriptions reference should be made to an article by Isaac H. Hall, in Proceedings of the American
Oriental Society, for October, 1883. The Zeus was the Zeus Stratios of Mylasa, in Caria, who
had an ancient temple in Labranda. Letters 1 to 2%. inches high.

" Oliasas vowed and paid [it] to Zeus Labranios."

tions. Letters 1 to ij^ inch high. The first part of the inscription is defective. In the first line here
present, only a part of the letters are legible; those in brackets being supplied as seems required.
