I. IT being essential to the due administration of justice, that the
Nizamut Adawlut should be vested with the power of superintending the
several inferior criminal tribunals, the following rules have been accordingly
enacted, for extending the jurisdiction of that court to the provinces
ceded by the Nawaub Vizier to the Honourable the English East-India
Company, and for declaring and making known to the inhabitants of those
provinces the constitution of the said court.

blished.—The rules which were applied to the Nizamut Adawlut at Calcutta by this Regula-
tion must be understood as now applying to the Nizamut Adawlut for the North-Western
