AioSiLvy X^prjTa, epwTiKios diaredeicrav els eva tQv dewpwv. Here two points call for com-
ment : (a) The saying Mulcts daKpvov is not really explained by the story related ; (b) The
name Mulct attached to a priestess at Dodona suggests comparison with the /xtXicraa of
Delphoi (supra i. 443 f.). It forms a good pendant to B6fxj3os (supra p. 214 n. 3), can be
readily connected with Zeus (supra i. 532), and may well have been altered into MvprlXa.
