Here Judas see^ who labours hard
To find the true cross of our Lord ;
Which having found, as scripture tells^
He at the same time found the nails.

45.

Now JudaSj with the cross comes near,
Which he had found^ as you may hear;
And also with him brings nails three,

To th’ empress fair, as here you see.

46.

Now none of those who then stood there
Which was the true cross could declare;
They therefore, of these crosses, two
Laid on a dead man : it is true.
