lander, Rieifel, Woermann, J 899 — discuss a special group of pictures,
especially two dated 1503, attributed variously to Griinewald, Cranach
or Huber).

nach.

An article written four months before the opening of the exhibition, dis-
cussing the aims and prospects of the latter, and giving a resume of the
literature bearing on the « Pseudo-Griinewald » question, a question
which it was hoped the exibition would help to solve.

The writer is of opinion that the importance of the so-called Aschaf-
