vier Jahrhunderten. Miinchen und Leipzig, 1893, in-4. Taf. 68-70.
Inhalts-Verzeichniss, Sp. XVI-XVII.

Taf. 70 reproduces a woodcut (B. 70) omiited in D r Lippmann’s collec-

the invention of chiaroscuro printing, is much less valuable than D 1' Lip-

Lippmann (Friedrich), Lucas Cranach. Sammlung von Nachbil-

The book contains 64 facsimiles, including all the engravings and nearly
all the important ancl genuine woodcuts, with specimens of the minor
works, and some drawings, as illustralions in the text. The woodcuts
are arranged in approximate chronological order. D v Lippmann’s introduc-
tion is a valuable shetch and criticism of the life and work of Cranach.

Sci-iuchardt (Christian), Ueher Holzschnitt in Golddruck (Nau-
mann’s Archiv fiir die zeichnenden Kiinste, 1858, IV 295).

cut B. 66 at Dresden, with a second outline block, containing the mono-
gram, printed in white.
