Watermarks : ‘ high crown ’ (Ha.4—Ha. says that he has never actually found the
watermark, but the paper is that on which it occurs) ; ‘ jug ’ (Ha. 10).
There is a large amount of literature on this engraving, which has been supposed to
represent, in connection with the Knight, Death and the Devil, and the Melancholia,
