1215d, L. 0.056 m. Intact. Transverse incised lines ad-
jacent to spring and catch, and around lateral knobs.
Central dot and circles.

COMPARANDA
2. The ridges with sharp outer edge which divide
the flaring base and mark off the bulbs are similar in
profile to those on the two vase-carriers, Nos. 1 and 3,
Pl. XXV, from Narce 105 F.
3. With the decoration of the main zone, cf. that on
a similar bowl from Narce XXXII, MonAnt. IV, p. 443,
No. 38, and Pl. VII, 19, the tomb-fellow of a handsome
bronze vase decorated with motives similar to those on
our helmet and breastplate from Narce 43, Pl. II\ and
on an urn from Narce, MonAnt. XV, col. 674, Fig. 199 b.
With the metopic scheme, cf. No. 3 from Vulci 51, Pl.
XLIV; No. 7 from Vulci 66, PL XLV; and MonAnt. XXI,
col. 439, Fig. 29 and colored plate at end of volume, from
Tomb 3, Visentium, which also has bichrome decoration
and a metopic frieze.
6 and 7. Cf. No. 8 from Narce 16 F, PL XXIV and
the comparanda cited under this number.

23. Bronze Fibula. Pl. XII and Fig. 16. M.S.
1215a, L. 0.05 m. Spring and pin missing. Trans-
verse bands of herring-bone alternating with plain bands
adjacent to catch and spring. Similar lengthwise bands
in middle.

24. Similar Bronze Fibula. Pl. XII and Fig. 17.
M.S.1215b, L. 0.032 m. Pin and catch broken. Trans-
verse and axial incised lines.
25. Bronze Fibula. Pl. XII. M.S.1216, L. 0.06 m.
Pin broken. Once strung with amber beads of which
two remain, one on the arch.
26. Three Biconical Bronze Coils. Pl. XII. M.S.
1213, 1213a, and 1213b; L. 0.06, 0.05, and 0.073 m.
Intact.
27. Bronze Tubular Pendant. Pl. XII. M.S.
1214, L. 0.085 m. Intact.

8. In Narce 102 F and 105 F unpainted stands occur
again together with stands covered with white slip and
decorated in red, Pis. XXIII and XXV. Cf. also Mon-
telius, Pl. 349, 9, from Veii.
9 and 10. Cf. stands with painted decoration, Nos.
7 and 8 from Narce 109 F, Pl. VHP, Nos. 4 and 5 from
Narce 102 F, Pl. XXIIP, Nos. 8 and 9 from Narce 105 F,
PL XXV; Nos. 8 and 9 from Narce 2, PL XXVI; Nos. 5
and 6 from Narce 2 F, Pl. XXXIV; CVA. Copenhagen, Pl.
207, 3 and 4 from Narce.
12. The connected chevrons on the base are identical
with those on the biconical urn, No. 3 from Narce 1,
Pl. XXIX. The pattern recurs on a similar bowl from
Tomb XLIX, Narce, Montelius, Pl. 319, 1 (= MonAnt.
IV, col. 495, No. 35).
13. The counterpart of this bowl comes from Narce
27 M, No. 19, Pl. XIV. Somewhat similar is a bowl from
the Ager Capenatus, MonAnt. XVI, col. 430, Fig. 42 and
col. 338, 2, from a chamber-tomb, No. LXI. The flat
rim might also be compared with that on a bowl from
Lentini, RM. 1900, p. 71, Fig. 13, on which is a band of
late debased leaf ornament like that on No. 5 from Vulci
22, Pl. VIII.
14. Cf. the oinochoe from Tomb XVII, Tarquinii,
NS. 1930, p. 133, B, 1, which is shaped similarly to ours
and decorated with red and brown stripes.

28. Bronze Bowl. Pl. XII. M.S. 1211, D. 0.119 m.
Handle and part of bowl missing. The handle which
was apparently a high loop was fastened at the rim by
two rivets and lower down on the bowl by a piece of wire
passed through two rivet holes, an ancient mend. On
the floor of the bowl is a circle of small dots from which
radiate seven ridges to the shoulder.

21. Cf. MonAnt. IV, Pl. X, 15, and col. 439, No. 10,
from Barnabei’s Tomb XXX.
22. Cf. Montelius, Pl. 283, 10, from the Tomb of
March 12, 1883, Tarquinii, tomb-fellow of a bronze bowl
shaped like the bowls Nos. 1-12 from Narce 27 M, Pis.
XIII and XIV.
