Strap handles. Body ribbed, by application of ropes of
clay.
12. Cup. PL XV. M.S.1183, H. 0.051 m., D. 0.079
m. Intact. Similar fabric, buff throughout, mottled
surface. Handmade.
Objects Other than Pottery
13. Three Fragments of Bronze Hoops. PL XV.
M.S.1184a, b, and c, W. 0.035 m., estimated D. 0.19 m.
Two fragments join; the third, of the same curvature,
probably comes from a second hoop since it is too long
to complete the circle of the other two. Nails measuring
from 0.01 m. to 0.02 m. in length and placed along the
median line of the fragments must have attached them
to some fairly thick substance like wood. From a wooden
vase or water-barrel. ?
14. Bronze Razor Knife. PL XV. M.S.1186, L.
0.118 m. Edges damaged. Slender type; one surface
of the handle is flat, the other rounded. No traces of
protuberances on the ring. A string hole in the blade.
15. Bronze Bracelet. Pl.XV. M.S.1185, D. 0.094
m. Inner surface damaged. Hollow. Four transverse
grooves adjacent to ends.
16. Bronze Bulla.
PI. XVI. M.S.1190, D.
0.035 m. Edges dam-
aged. Made from a sin-
gle sheet of bronze folded
double and the halves
joined by chains which
pass through opposite per-
forations at irregular in-
tervals along the margin.
The arrangement of the
dotted ornament, alike
on either face of the bulla, is shown in Fig. 22.
17. Fragments of Silver Coils. Pl. XVI. M.S.
1195, D. 0.026 m. The ends are enlarged. Enough
pieces remain to reconstruct a pair with, apparently, one
more coil each than appears in similar Vetulonian coils,
Montelius, PI. 198, 10, from the Tomba delle Tre
Navicelle.
18. Fragments of Two Small Bronze Rings. Pl.
XVI. M.S.l 196a, D. 0.01 m.
19. Necklace of Blue and White Paste Beads.
PL XVI. M.S.1191.

of a Lioness (Sakhmet?) Pl. XVI. M.S.l 194, H. 0.33

on their lower surfaces the impressed curves made by a
string in cutting the vase free from the wheel and were
regarded as seals by the excavators. If fijund in the
tomb, they must have worked down from a higher level.
