as in the foregoing. Knobs on shoulder midway between
rounded handles.

nique as in the foregoing. Handles concave at rim, flat
where they join the shoulder. Upper part of vase

Objects Other than Pottery
23. Fragments of an Iron Tire of a Wheel. Pl.
XXIV. M.S.904. Three join to form a section 0.34 m.
in length. The estimated diameter of the entire wheel is
0.89 m. The tire itself is 0.02 m. thick. At intervals of
0.025 m. are iron rivets, square in section, the longest pre-
served length of which is 0.03 m. and width 0.005 m.
These attached the tire to the wooden felloe, traces of
which remain. Among the small iron fragments are
corroded conical bosses with pin attached which may
have ornamented the spokes or hub of the wheel, unless
they are the heads of the rivets mentioned above.
24. Eight Clay Weights. Pl. XXIV. M.S.905a-
h, L. 0.042 m., D. 0.045 m.
25. Clay Bead. PL XXIV. M.S.906, D. 0.037 m.
Square in its largest section, the corners of the square as
well as the openings of the perforation are encircled with
impressed rope pattern.
26. Fragments of Biconigal Bronze Spiral Orna-
ments. PL XXIV. M.S.911.

27. Three Fragments of a Bronze Serpentine
Fibula. Pl. XXIV. M.S.909. The best preserved of
these fragments is ornamented with knobs; to this has
been joined a badly corroded piece with a cross tube. A
third piece, also corroded, to which several links of chain
now adhere, continues the spring. That the two cor-

roded pieces once joined
similarly grooved.
