The four cases of "winged frames" show the originals from which the
photographic chart was made. Two years are presented in each case of "winged
frames", comprising altogether work done in years one to eight inclusive. They
are sometimed termed "primary" and „grammar" grades. Kindergarten work
is not included.
Each mount shows one illustration of each subject taught each month.
Teachers give, however, additional exercises based on ea& subject, according
to time.
The object of the exhibit is to make the course of study in the Denver
schools quiddy and easily understood. It aims to represent work reasonable to
expect of children, and possible for the average general teacher to present. To
show the ends indicated it has been necessary to sacrifice arrangements of form
and color which might have made a more attractive and pleasing exhibit.
Note: It should be stated, that while pupils are following the above course
of instruction, they make use of the knowledge and training gained, in appli^
cations to sewing, domestic science, manual training, etc. This part of general
instruction is not included in the exhibit.

High Schools
The exhibit prepared by a Committee of high school art teachers.

This exhibit illustrates the Art work and Manual Training of three High
School courses of study offered to the pupils of Denver: these are the Academic
Course, the Manual Training High School Course, and the Technical High
School Course. The work is planned by the principals and teachers of the High
Sdiools, the teadicrs being specialists in their respective lines of work.
The Academic Course
In the first two years, the Academic Course requires free=hand drawing
90 minutes per week for 38 weeks and me&anical drawing for the same amount
of time.
The work of the third and fourth years is optional: it may be either
mechanical drawing or design in the third year: in the fourth year pupils may
