example of this class of ritual vessel from a tomb in the neighbourhood of Ain

Tab,1 and dating probably from about 1000 B.C. In having its larger opening
in the neck it follows Cypriote analogies, but the smaller orifice is in the lower
lip, in accordance with the earliest Minoan prototypes. The character of the eye
recalls the rudest sub-Minoan workmanship.
