The picture features a minaret at the Roman-
Catholic cathedral, with the figure of Our Lady
placed on it in 1756.

Podolski one can see — down in the ravine
of the Smotrycz — the Tartar settlement
Karwasary.

Born in Dresden in 1784 — Died in Cracow in 1834
He studied painting in Dresden under F. Ch. Klass and from 1805 — in Vienna and
Warsaw. In 1825 he settled down in Cracow, where he taught drawing in St. Barbara's
Secondary School.
He painted landscapes, battle scenes and portraits.
