He attended the State College of Plastic Arts in Gdansk under the guidance of Stanisfaw Teisseyre
(diploma in 1958). Since 1960 involved in pedagogical activities of the Gdansk College, in 1962
he took over the studio of painting; in the years 1981-1982 he was a pro-rector of the College; he
is also a professor of the European Academy of Arts in Warsaw.
His paintings and drawings of interiors and still lifes are executed in a metaphorical, sometimes
even surreal manner - flatly, with the application of clear colours; he is a representative of the so-
called "Sopot school".

In the period 1972-1977 he studied at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts (diploma in Jerzy
Nowosielski's atelier in 1977). At present he lives in Germany.
In the late 1970s he practised hyperrealism in painting.
