Buiat Okudzawa (1924-1997) - a Russian poet,
singer and prose writer of Georgian origin, a bard
of the oid Moscow; the author of baiiads and
songs with phiiosophic-metaphoricai meaning
performed to the guitar accompaniment.

In the years 1966-1971 he studied at the Faculty of Graphic Art of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts
(diploma in 1971). He is a professor at the Faculty of Pattern-Designing at the Varsovian Academy.
As a painter, graphic artist and book-illustrator, he has taken interest in metaphorical themes; he has
also documented folk music.

The composition was inspired by the events at Lubin, in
the Copper Fieid, where three persons were shot to death
and many wounded when functionaries of the security
service (SB) tried to suppress a demonstration against the
martial iaw between 3D August and 2"^ September 1982.
