She came from an Italian family. At first she studied in the Film Institute under Wiktor Bieganski
and in Janina Mieczynska's Ballet School in Warsaw. From 1927 she studied at the Warsaw
Academy in Tadeusz Pruszkowski's atelier; she often sat to portraits by Pruszkowski and Roman
Kramsztyk. From 1935 she continued her training at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts in Wojciech
Weiss's studio. In 1997 she received the order Commendatore del Ordine al Merito della Repub-
lica Italiana from Oscar Luigi Scalfaro, President of the Italian Republic.
As a painter she showed interest in metaphysical and fairy-tale subjects.
