Kwilcz in the Great Poland district 1923
He studied at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts in the years 1946-1951 (diploma in 1951). He
participated, a. o., in the AH-Polish Exhibition of Young Plastic Artists "Against War, Against
Fascism" in the Varsovian Arsenal in 1955.
In the mid 1950s he became interested in animated cartoons, creating the so-called experimental
cinema. He practised graphic art, made political satirical drawings published, a. o., in "Szpilki"; he
occupied himself with cinematography. Since 1959 he has been living in France, where he directs
feature films.
