Marek OBERLANDER BM
Szczerzec near Lvov 1922 - Nice 1978
tn the years 1939-1943 he served in the Red Army on the Soviet territory. From 1948 he studied
at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts under the guidance of Artur Nacht-Samborski, Ateksander
Rafatowski and Marek Wtodarski (diptoma in 1953). He was a co-organizer of the Att-Potish
Exhibition of Young Ptastic Artists "Against War, Against Fascism" in the Varsovian Arsenat in
1955. In 1963 he settled down in France.
He took up the theme of southern landscape and drew inspiration from music, which might have
been a reaction to the stamp of his traumatic wartime experiences.
