He studied at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts - from 1933 under Wladyslaw Jarocki and from
1936 under Ksawery Dunikowski.
Initially, he occupied himseif with sculpture, which he gave up in favour of painting and drawing,
devoting himseif mainly to portraiture. He was also a publicist, author of theoretical notes on the
shaping of child psychology through the picture, and organizer of the Social Centre of Plastic
Culture and State Plastic Centre in Malbork.
