The first printed edition, a Latin translation by Michael Cappella, was
issued at Lyons in 1523.
Contains an Arabian compendium of medicine in two parts:
Part I, Theoretical; dealing with the human body and its
functions, the illnesses and their origin, and the general
and special diagnoses. It consists of 10 treatises (Maqala).
Part II, Practical; dealing with the treatment of the different
diseases, also divided into ten Maqalas.
