the side of the Figure 5, so as to form two gables at right
angles with each other, as is there shown by dotted lines.
This figure would in plan be represented thus

We may see this figure shown by the dotted lines as
attached to Fig. 5.

A PYRAMID.

Fig. 8 forms a pyramidal roof, such as is common to
towers or buildings of an humbler character, such as barns,
dove-cots, &c. When two figures like Fig. 7, are com-
bined with this, as shown by the dotted lines, we have a
gable like Fig. 5 ; and when two half-gables are also com-
bined with these, the whole together make in solid contents
an entire cube. In plan, this figure would be thus ex-
plained,
