Missionaries of the Apostolic Faith Mission started working in Northern Rhode-
sia after the Second World War. This church comes not from the USA but
from South Africa, although in the emergence of this Pentecostal Church in
1908 one can trace various influences from the USA. The initial concentration
was on the African miners of the Copperbelt, the assemblies in the rural areas
(Fig. 30), such as in Mbala and Luwingu Districts, being founded mainly by
miners returning to their home villages. As in the case of the DRCM and
SABM missionaries, the Apostolic Faith missionaries felt obliged to leave the
country after Zambian Independence, passing the work over to the German
“Velberter Mission”.
