Church of John the Baptist of the town of Priluki (near Nowgorod or Brest-Litowsk?).
It is furthermore stated that in producing the binding, more than six Russian pounds
of silver and 13% tservontsi of gold were spent, while the pay of the artist amounted
to no less than 213 rubl and 30 copeks.
There are some occasional traces of use and a small hole on leaf 115 causing
a few syllables of the text to be lost. The catches of the binding and the four
metal bosses of the lower cover are renewed, otherwise book and binding are in very
good condition.

N. Kondakow. A magnificent volume containing a leaf of dedication exe-
cuted in gold and colours against a silver stamped background, 7 title-
pages, 31 plates and a final leaf, all of them printed in colours and heigh-

No. 168 of this sumptuous work, of which only 200 copies were printed. The first

including also the influence that came from Byzance. Chapter 2 deals with the monu-
ments of the Byzantine cloisonne enamels, and the two following chapters treat of the
Byzantine and Russo-Byzantine enamels preserved in the Swenigorodskoi-Collection.
The illustrations reproduce enamel-work of the Orient, Byzance, Russia, Georgia and
Western Europe. On 1. 5 there is an owner’s inscription and stamp, both scarcely
visible.
