Ed. It. Tin.r,
A PUBLIC LIBRARY
Sir, With reference to a letter of
Mr. M. B. Tamang of Darjeeling, appeared
in your issue of November 9th in the
“Letters to the Editor” column, I beg
to state that the idea of opening in
Darjeeling an up-to-date Public Library
should be considered tVs-o^f vital neces-
sities of this place and that the letter
of Mr. M B. Tamang should be backed
and supported by all lovers of books.
I am sure that many foreigners stay-
ing in Darjeeling temporarily or perma-
nently, enjoying the great beauty of this
place and admiring the noble character
of the people living in this country, will
heartily support the initiative of Mr.
Tatrvang.
If the organization Committee of a
Public Library in Darjeeling will come
to existence they will doubtlessly do their
best for the realization of his aims.
Yours etc. Dr. Jan Fryling, Darjeeling.
