Sri T. Wangtli, Deputy
Minister for Tribal Wel-
fare, West Bengal Govern-
ment lias arrived at Dar-
jeeling in connection with
the establish men', of the
Tenzing Mountaineering
School at Darjeeling, it Is
learnt here reliably He
had earlier also come to
Darjeeling in this very
connection and was accom-
panied by another state
official also. Birch Hill,
approximately 7300 feet,
has been recommended to
be the site for the school.

ganise Agriculture and
animal show among pen-
sioners, families of serving
soldiers, and ex-soldiers of
the State during the month

kliana Club has resigned
and will be leaving for
England sometimes in No-
vember next, it is learnt
here Applications have
already been invited for
the post and it is reliably
understood that so far some
45 appbeations have been
received.

The Gymkhana Club of
"Darjeding is one of the
oldest and most renowned
clubs of Darjeeling wilh a
good membership strength
and visitors also join it
as temporary members,
ft also runs the races
twice a year including the
Governor's Cup race.

But it is now known
that the club is rurn'ng
in shaky manner and it
is also reported that
Rs 40 000/ has bren shpwn
as loss to the club last
year over the catering
establishment only. Dire
