DISPUTE OVER RS. 50 000
Dear Sir, For the
information of the pub-
lic we are letting you
know that the news about
a deal fur Rs 50,000/-
with one Lakpa Tshering.
a Tibetan merchant and
our firm is full of miseon
("option.
, The1 firm.of Prabhulal
Ramkumar, Kalimpong,'
never entered into any
deal with the said Lakpa
Tshering regarding the
purchase of any cloth and
it is totally false that
sri Autooram of the firm
of Messrs Prabhulal Ram-
kumar took any money
and issued any receipt
for . Rs. 50,000/- in favour
uf Lakpa Tshering.
Tne said Lakpa Tshe-
ring approached Tibetan
Traders Association and a
nine member committee
investigated the matter
i.n our firm and as they
could" not decide anything
reported their opinion to
the Tibet Traders Associa-
tion. The said Association
without going to Indian
Law Courts to establish
the case of Lakpa Tshe-
ring, and inspito of the
letter of The Kalimpong
Chamber of Commerce,
most surprisingly issued,
practically in' violation of
the rights of Human con-
k
duct, a pamphlet in Tibe-
tan Language dated ">4th
November 1953 urging all
the Tibetan Traders to
boycott our firm on and
from 1st December 1953.
They even began pieketting
our firm by posting some
pickets said to be paid
for the purpose, by the
side of our shop. It is
beyond our conception as
to how The Tibetan Tra
ders Association could take
up the cause of Lakpa
Tshering without ascertai-
ning the genuineness of
the receipt of Rs. 50,000'-.
alleged to have been wri-
tten, signed and delive-
red by Antooram to Lakpa
Tshering.
Besides going to Law
Court the Tibetan Traders
Association could easily
have the hanJwriting
verified by an expert
before starting pieketting.
Thus instead of settling
anything they have aggra
vated the situation.
It js our request to
Tibetan . merchants who
have long standing busi-
ness relation with our firm
not to be misled by one-
sided opinion of the Tibe-
tan Traders Association.
If there is any grievance
of Lakpa Tshering he
should b? advised bv the
Tibetan Traders Associa-
tion to go to proper
courts of law for redress
and not to embitter sweet
relations which we are
continuing with the Tibe-
tans for the last few
decades. Yours etc Ram-
kuinar for Prabhulal Ram-
kumar. Kalimpong:
