They came in an unceasing stream, distressed,
. diseased and displaced —2,585.974 who needed
economic and mental rehabilitation. Over
15 lakhs of these refugees have been re-settled.
Of the younger generation 158,000 children
are receiving education and ov,er 3200 technical
' and vocational training. ■ The total money
spent on this gigantic task is over rupees 20
crores on grants, and rupees 18 crorcs on loans.
Re-settling the refugees in a new life needed
personal effort on the part of the refugees
themselves and accommodation and help from
others. And what appeared to be a liability
once is turning out to be an asset to the
country and the State. Let us all work
