OBITUARY

The late Mrs.M.M. Dixon
The death of Mrs.
. M. M. Dixon, wife of Mr.
T. Ingham Dixon, lale
I S. E Pubjab, occuired
at the Charteris Hospital,
Kalimpong on 10th June,
and the funeral took place
in the Roman Catholic
Cemetry, St. Augustims,
Kalimpong on 18th June
tttended by a large ga.
ti.ering of mourners.

rom Ireland, and from
1948 they have lived in
Kalimpong. In 1951, they
travelled to South Africa
with the possibility of
retiring there but the old
links with India proved
too strong and they ic-
turned to Kalimpong early
in 1952 making their homo
in the Himalayan Hotel
where they celebrated
their Golden Wedding
Anniversary in November
last year.

Mrs. Dixon faced in-
different and failing health
over a long peritd with
rare courage and innate
Irish humour and sho
will be sadly missed by
a wide circle of friends
and relations.

Sho leaves behind her
husband, two sons and
two daughters. The elder
son. Mr T. H Dixon,
Superintending Ergineer,
C.P.W.D., West Bengal,
was at one time Execu-

Kalimpong, June 24

As usual the Fifth
Vanarnahotsava Tree Plan-
ting drive-will be carried
out throughout the coun-
try during the month of
July this year. The local
Forest Department has
arranged for the distri-
bution of seedlings from
all the -Range Offices of
this Sub-Division through-
out the month of July.

All the educational
institutions, government
and private offices, indi-
viduals, and khasmahal
tenants in the rural areas
are requested to plant
more trees during the
Vanamahotsava and make
the scheme a success.
