The political parties
of the district have time
to time demanded some
sort of District advisory
oounoil for Darjeeling.
The Congress party is in
favour of advisory body
the Gorkha league is for
District autonomous Coun-
cil and the Communist
party demands regional
autonomy.
These demands are
still there and hope Dr.
Roy along with his Ca-
binet members will try
to find out some silution

be manned with people
from all walks of life and
not only with few party
men The four towns of
this district have their
own problems and we
hope these will also be
oonsidered by the cabinet
while id the district.
GORKHA LEAGUE MEETING
AT KALIMPONG
Kalimpong, June 6
A publio masting bald
under auspices of Gorkha
League to day at Mala
ground was addressed
by Sri Deo Prakash Bai
m.l.a.
v Sri Rai, spoke for
120 minutes and his main
target of attack was on
Sri N B. Guruug, Deputy
Minister Labour. He went
in detail about the his-
tory of Gorkha League
and he expressed his view
that it is wrong to think
that the Gorkha League
will die due to the bet-
rayal of some of its mem-
bers who have been pur-
chased by the Congress.
He also referred about
the memorandum which
the party will submit to
Dr. B. C. Roy on 8th
instant
In conclusion be oon-
demned the Chinese agres-
sion in Tibet and appea-
led all to help the Tibe-
tan refugees.
Sri P.T. Lama, District
President also spake. The
meeting was largely
attended, mostly villagers.

cation Secretary, Govern-
ment of West Bengal,
opened the Science Block
and Craft aeotion at Ku-
mudini Homes on 3rd June
in presenoe of large num-
ber of students.
Speaking on the oc-
casion Dr. Hen explained
the differences between
old and new education
system. He said the Mul-
ti Purpose School* will
go a long way^in buil-
ding the Nation.
Later Dr. Sen had a
frank discussion with the
managingCommittae mem-
bers about stsrting of a
Government College at
Kalimpong. ".»

this svening.

Bhawani Prasad won the
game by 3 2 against Josse
brothers. The match was
very interesting and was
watched by a big crowd
