ceremony this morning.
The trainees completed
the 18th mountaineering
eourie at the institute.
Speaking of the ocoas-
lioo the Maharajkumar
■aid that Mountaineering
wai the most wonderful
eport in the world and
it trained muscles and
mind aa well. It initia-
ted one into that spiri-
tual communion with
which aneient sages in
India were aquainted
when they sought for
things spiritual in the
Himalayas. He further
said that the trainees
here get a training in
the coordination of mind,
friendship & team spirit.
Ool. Qyansingb, Prin-
cipal of the Mountaineer-
ing Institute expressed
his delight over the in-
creasing number of trai-
nees and he said it was
a good sign.
Tending, hoped that
more youngmen would
take to training and later
women too
Aooording to new
programme more import-
ance will be given on im-
parting expert training &
complicated techniques.
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE NOT
SATISFIED WITH THE
DISTRIBUTION OF IMPORT
LICENSES

The Nepal Chamber
of Commerce has demand-
ed than an imperial com-
mittee composed of its
representatives and those
of the Government be
immediately set up to
inquire into what it calls
the reckless distribution
of the import lioenses.
Tn a prets statement,
it said that the prpsent
distribution of the import
licenses ignores the govt,
regulal'ons and is without
any proper basis.
It said that last year
the Government invited
the business community
to submit applications for
licenses to import foreign
goods. Accordingly macy
applied for the said lioeneea
to import many neoessary
industrial goods. But be-
cause of some reasons or
the other, the said lioenses
were never given.
Now, it says, the
government has given li-
censes to people who are
not even businessmen.
Therefore it says that
it demands of the go-
vernment to immediately
stop the distribution and
fom a oomraittee to in-
vestigate into the matter.
The new Nepali Con-
gress Government has
promised through investi-
gation of all cases of
abuse of import licenses
and their alleged impro-
per issue,
