ment is understood, to
have asked distriot autho-
rities to furniati jrejevent
data about doubts-mem-
ber Kurseong Siliguri As-
sembly constituency. Of
the districts five Assem-
bly seats only Kurseong-
Siliguri is doubls-member-
ed one
It is understood that
in the proposed bifurca-
tion, Kurseong is. likely
to be separated from Sili-
guri with Mirik, which is
presently under, the Jore-
bungalow Assembly cons-
tituency, being tagged on
to Kurseong
It is understood that
there-is a move in certain
quarters to demand an
additional constituency for.
the Siliguii subdivision
comprising Siliguri town
only. The sponsors hope
to base their claim on
the forthcoming census,
which is expected'to reveal
a population figure of
over 100.000.
