June, which culminated
in a public meeting at
Gangtok Bazar, presided
over by Kazi Lhendup
Dorji.v twenty-one Reso-
lutiiins were passed which
were then announced, to
the large gathering, who
received them with mani-
fest pleasure and great
enthusiasm. The gathering
numbered about six thou-
sand people from , all parts
of Sikkim, among whom
were large numbers of
Lepchaa from the Lepoha
areas, and it was fully
representative of the three
communities of Sikkim

The main Resolutions
passed were the demand
for the immediate aboli-
tion of the communal
vo ing system, the dtmand
for a written Constitu-
tion; the Resolution that
the Sikkim Subjects Re-
gulation would not be
accepted in the form of
a Proclamation from the
Maharaja, but that it
should form part of the
Constitution after this
Regulation had been tho-
roughly discussed in the
Sikkim Council; and tho

formation of a Respond,
ble Government.

Unless these objec-
tives are fulfilled, the
Sikkim National Congress
resolved that they would
firstly recall' their Cdun-
oillers from the Sikkim.
Council,. and, seoondly,
they would launch a full-
scale, Sikkim wide satya
graha, peaceful and non-

Stating that , these
twenty-one Resolutions
represented the legitimate

people to stand united
for the final struggle,. H«
