been purchased from the Arabs ; she shewed much blood, but was
underlimbed and heavy. The horses belonging to the Persian
princes, who had at that time gone to England, were also at Mr.
Farien's. They were well clothed, and taken care of, but did not
appear to be well bred. I heard of a mare at Damascus for
which 500/. had been refused, but I did not see her. Eight or
ten horses had also been bought for the Emperor of Austria; but,
with the exception of two bay stallions, they did not appear to be
of any value.
