Trom 1946 to 1-958, it was a Regional Museum with a few
years' interruption and from 1958 onwards a District Regio-
nal Museum.
The Museum has the following sections:
Archaeology — sets of exhibits of great scientific value
for the knowledge of the early-mediaeval culture of the
Slavs in the Odra region (5th—13th centuries);
Ethnography — folk culture from the Voivodship of
-Zielona Gora: fishTng, agriculture, flax processing and weav-
ing;
A r t — of the Zielona Gora region up to the 18th century,
and present-day paintings by local artists;
Wine-making — wine-making appliances from the 18th
and 19th centuries and various exhibits connected with the
production of wine.
Natural History — Pavilion in the Millennium Park,
tel. 728-50. Mineralogical and ornithological collections.
ZIHBICE (Wroclaw Voivodship, Zgbkowice Slgskie County)
REGIONAL MUSEUM, 10 Przemyslowa Street, tel. 378. Open
daily, except Mondays and days following holidays, from
10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Museum has been in existence since 1931. After the war,
its work was resumed in 1950.
The Museum now has several departments with most ex-
hibits in the field of artistic handicraft and ethnography.
ZLAKOW BOROWY (Lodz Voivodship, Lowicz County)
FOLK ART ROOM OF THE LOWICZ REGION, the house
of Justyna Gregora.
The Room has been run since 1962 by the owner under the
patronage of the Union of Folk Art Industry (CPLiA). In the
interior of the cottage — about 250 exhibits of handicraft
and folk art.
ZLOTOW (Koszalin Voivodship)
MUSEUM OF THE ZLOTOW REGION, 2a Wojska Polskiego
Street. Open daily except Mondays and days following holi-
days, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Sundays and holidays from
1 to 3 p.m.
The Museum is lodged in a restored burgher house from the
middle of the 18th century. The Museum has historical.
ethnographic and archaeological collections. From its in-
ception, the Museum was to have a historical character, with
special attention devoted to the struggles for the Polish cha-
racter of the Borderland and the Krajna region. Folk
culture is represented in the Museum, above all, by rweaving
implements and woven fabrics. The archaeologicai relics
come for the most part from research conducted in the burial
grounds of Pomeranian culture at Maryniec, Stawnica and
Piecew, county of Zlotow.
