The dark spots in the glomeruli are not nuclei, but irregular, more darkly stained shreds of tissue.

At a. is the lower part of the intestine the muscular layer has become kinked and folded
on itself. The artist faithfully reproduced what he saw, and I thought it préférable not to re-
touch the picture in any way.
