his Autograph signature on the fly-leaf :
“ George Borrow
Ejus liber
1821.”
“Borrow translated the Gospel of St Luke into the dialect of the
Gitanos, and presented it to the British and Foreign Bible Society. ’ ’—

A new translation from the Vulgate, based on the Venice Bible of
1506, . . . made by the Jesuits J. Constantins, M. V. Steyer and
J. Barner. With Annotations.
This copy contains the Prophets and the New Testament only.
The remainder of the Old Testament appeared in 1715.
Entered in Darlow & Moule as not in the British and Foreign
Bible Society.
