Objects: No. 1, outside well on ‘south’; No. 2, in debris; above was Coptic debris, glass beads, carnelian beads,
bronze bracelets:
1. Alabaster, cylindrical jar; type I c; h. 18 cm.; photo B 9690, 1/2; fig. 71.
2. Alabaster, fragment of rim of wide shallow bowl with internal rim; type X c (2).

Rectangular pit, 145x100 cm. and no cm. deep; with c.b. well measuring inside, 95x55 cm. and 40 cm.
high; walls, about 12-14 cm. thick; walls, broken away on ‘S’ and ‘SW’; axis, 56° east of south.
Burial: tightly contracted on left side, head to ‘south’; skull, missing.

Mastaba, entirely destroyed by seZ>tf&A-digging and denudation.
Stairway with single square chamber cut in gravel; the upper part of stairway was lined with c.b. walls to a
depth of about no cm.; measuring inside, 260 cm. long by 70 cm. wide at ‘north’ end and 105 cm. wide at
‘south’ end; first three steps built of c.b. and below roughly cut steps and slope in gravel; depth from top of
c.b. casing to floor of chamber, 295 cm.; width of doorway, 80 cm.; chamber, 120 x 120 cm. and 80 cm. high;
axis, 540 east of south.
Burial: entirely removed by plundering; a few bones in debris.
Objects: in the debris filling the stairway were fragments of slate bowl, type X a (2); fragments of porphyry jar,
type V a; fragment of alabaster table, type XII b; human leg-bones; bones of turtle (?), and four skulls, other
bones of dogs (?).

Irregular rectangular pit, 120x90 cm. and 170 deep; modified by plundering, &c.; axis, 28° east of south.
Burial: a child, tightly contracted on left side, head to ‘south’; skull missing; bones in bad condition.
Objects: No. 1, at head; above, Coptic potsherds.

Long rectangular pit, 120x35 cm. and 170 cm. deep; axis, 470 west of south (i.e. local ‘west’).
Burial: young female, on back with hands on pelvis.
Objects: (1) ear-ring in each ear; (2) bronze bracelet on each wrist.
