Szanowni Państwo,
jest nam bardzo miło zaprezentować kolejny, szósty już tom Notae Numismaticae
- Zapisków Numizmatycznych. Znajdą w nim Państwo artykuły problemowe, mate-
riały, recenzje oraz kroniki Gabinetu Numizmatycznego i Sekcji Numizmatycznej
Komisji Archeologicznej Polskiej Akademii Nauk Oddziału w Krakowie. Zgodnie
z przyjętym od początku istnienia naszego czasopisma założeniem, teksty o tematy-
ce bardziej uniwersalnej publikujemy w językach kongresowych z polskimi stresz-
czeniami, zaś teksty odnoszące się w większym stopniu do zainteresowań czytelni-
ka polskiego - w języku polskim z angielskimi streszczeniami. Wielki wkład pracy
w przygotowanie redakcyjne niniejszego tomu włożyli Peter van Alfen (American
Numismatic Society) oraz Georges Depeyrot (le Centre national de la recherche
scientifiąue, Paris), którym w tym miejscu pragniemy złożyć serdeczne podziękowa-

Dear Readers,
We are very pleased to present the sixth volume of Notae Numismaticae - Zapi-
ski Numizmatyczne. This volume contains articles, reviews, and other materiał, as
well as the chronicles of the Coin Room and the Numismatic Section of the Archa-
eological Committee, the Polish Academy of Sciences in Kraków. According to the
principle we have followed sińce the beginning of our periodical, the materiał of
a morę generał naturę has been published in the conference languages, with Polish
abstracts, while the texts that are of greater interest to the Polish reader - in Polish,
with their abstracts in English. We would like to acknowledge substantial contri-
butions to the editorial work on this volume provided by Peter van Alfen (Ameri-
can Numismatic Society) and Georges Depeyrot (le Centre national de la recherche
scientifiąue, Paris), to whom we are grateful for their efforts. The information for
