There are not many hoards containing coins from Apollonia and Mesembria
from this period in the area, with all of them spread over a swathe of NE Bulgaria
and SE Romania - in fact, all of them come from the historical region of Dobruja.
In Bulgaria, a few hoards have been found at Medovets, Dalgopol municipality,
Varna region (20 diobols, 4 “reduced drachms”14 from Apollonia Pontica and
