Fab. Ij II, III, and IV. The Death of Pyramus

and Thisbe.

THE ARGUMENT.

The Daughters of Mineus, inftead of celebrating the Feaft of Bacchus,
apply themlelves to their Work during the Ceremonies ; and, amongft
feveral Hiftories which they relate to pafs away the time, divert themfelves
with the Adventures of Pyramus and Thisbe. Thofe Lovers appointed to
meet without the Walls of Babylon: Thisbe arrived firft,but at the fight
of a Lyonnefs run to hide herfelf in a Cave, and dropt her Scarf in the
Fright: Pyramus came foon after, where, finding his Miftrefs's Scarf all
bloody, and thereupon believing her Dead, he killed himfelfwith his own

Sword.
