to its later part), corroborating the date suggested for the thick wali
and the glacis.

In area B in the southeastem comer of Tell Rad Shaqrah two
trenches were opened, each of thern measuring 9.5 x 4.5 m,
separated only by a narrow baulk. Remains from three consecutive
occupational strata were uncovered in both trenches. All the strata
