hieroglyphic graffiti, most of which are engraved on the columns of the entrance court
A. He took squeezes of several of them, but want of
time prevented Mm from doing more. In 1893-1894, I
visited the temple and copied ail the inscriptions that
were visible. Subsequently, in Cairo,, Captain Lyons
and myself compared my copies with the squeezes
which he had made. The following texts are the resuit
of the comparison. The numerals attached to the texts
are those of the columns in the accompanying plan.

seen fronting and adoring the goddess, with five ver-

. To the right, the same goddess as above, with four vertical lines

may conclude from this graffito that there was an embassy to Syria during the reign of
Siptah.
