Plutarch, in North’s English translation has been justly termed by Warton in his
"History of English Poetry”, "Shakespeare’s Storehouse of Learned History’,’. Five of
Shakespeare’s plays can be directly traced to it.

I has 22, II 24, IV 12, some repeated. Almost uncut. 120X80 millimeters. Books I
and II described by Brunet (Recherches) p. 95 as being printed between 1542 and 1547.
Book III. Brunet p. 100. Book IV. Brunet (Manuel) p. 1054. The text edition of the
eleven first chapters, printed in 1547 or 1548 differs greatly from that of the 1552 edition
and later (67 chapters). Pages 375/6 of vol II in excellent facsimile by Pilinski.
