building with a round tower upon a hill, in the distance. Two
peasants are chatting together on a road in front; and in the
middle distance is a shepherd minding some sheep.

231. A Landscape, with a cottage on the right, and a woman
at a window, looking at two men, who are in conversation near
it. In the opposite side are a piece of water, a church, and a
building beyond it.

232. A Landscape, with a large cottage on the right. On
the fore-ground are two peasants, with long sticks; one of them
is seated on a stone; a woman stands at the door of the house.

barrow.

with sticks, who stand a short way from her, in close chat
together. A grindstone is at the side of the house.
