keeping his ssock. An old man is seated on the fore-ground,
and two men are standing near him.

247. A Pair. One represents a Man, with a glass of liquor
in his hand, carrying before him a basket filled with bottles.
The back-ground is adorned with a landscape. Called Le
Marchand de Ratasia.

249- A Landscape, with mountainous scenery. A pretty
peasant girl, dressed in a red corset, is crouching down with an
earthen pot in her lap, to milk a dark-coloured cow ; towards
the right, and at the foot of a hill, is a ssock of sheep ; and
above are two shepherds, one of whom is playing on the ssute.
